Black Tailed Godwits: Migration, Landscape & Loss: International Research
In 2023, We Live Here begins the development of a new project which will track the migration of thousands of Black Tailed Godwits from the Arctic Circle to West Africa and the environmental challenges that these incredible birds face along the way.
The project will reveal the many environmental challenges that these incredible birds face along the way, reflecting on climate change, the exploitation of natural resources, the degradation of natural landscapes and the different social and political pressures that arise from sharing a space with people. In the coming year we will build a core artistic team drawn from the countries through which the godwits migrate, including film-makers, performers, writers and musicians. We are building new partnerships with arts organisations, conservationists, academics and communities to support the development of the project.
